Father’s Day in Malta is Sunday 21 June - a portrait of his cat is the gift the cat dad never buys himself.

  • Their name titles every portrait in your private gallery
  • A delivery email made out to them - “Here’s Otto.”
  • A private gallery link that stays live a full year
Photographing a cat (how to get the one usable shot)
I.

Wait for alert, not asleep

Get on the floor. Catch them mid-sit - that held, composed look. Post-meal works. One sharp shot is enough.

II.

Windowsill light

Cats find the light anyway. Let them. Natural side-light brings out the eyes and coat. Skip flash.

III.

Face front, close enough

Fill most of the frame with their head and shoulders. The model needs to read their eye colour and markings.

Avoid:

Backs of heads · multiple cats in one shot · screenshots from Instagram · low-light phone photos · cats hiding under furniture.

Six styles. Built for cats.

The hardest thing about a cat portrait is the expression - that particular, self-possessed look. The model captures it. Shorthair, longhair, tabby, tortoiseshell, ginger, black, sphynx.

"Did the Watercolour for my Maine Coon Otto. The eyes are exactly his. My partner cried. I cried. The cat is unmoved."

Frequently asked

Cat questions,
answered honestly.

My cat hates the camera. What kind of photo will work?+

One decent shot is enough. Front-facing, eyes visible, in soft daylight - a window-side photo works well. Don't worry about studio-quality. The model is trained on real candid pet photos, including phone snapshots of mid-snooze cats. If we can see their face and markings, we can paint them.

Does the portrait actually look like my specific cat?+

Yes. The model is trained on identity preservation, so your cat's breed, fur markings, eye colour and face shape read through every style. Tortoiseshell, tabby, sphynx, Maine Coon, ragdoll, black, ginger, blue. Every preview passes a likeness check before you see it. If the six previews don't look like them, you don't pay.

Memorial portrait for a cat we've lost?+

The Memorial style is one of the six, designed for exactly this. Soft directional light, peaceful expression, warm sepia tones, no religious symbols. We treat memorial orders with extra care: gentler email copy, no upsell prompts, and the option to add a bespoke note. Email [email protected] if you'd like us to handle anything specifically.

How are the portraits made?+

Each portrait is composed in our atelier through six considered style treatments we built and refine continuously, engineered to preserve the specific features that make your cat look like your cat. We then print your chosen portrait on museum-grade archival giclée paper, the gallery standard, and ship it framed-ready.

How long does it take? When will it land?+

About thirty seconds to see your six previews on screen. Once you approve your portrait, your print is produced and shipped on tracked An Post, arriving in roughly three to six days. Prefer it on screen? The digital portrait arrives by email.

What sizes do the prints come in?+

€69 · the 30×30cm print. €99 · the 40×40cm print, our most loved size, with free tracked shipping. €129 · the 50×50cm statement print, free tracked shipping. Every print ships framed-ready on museum-grade archival giclée paper with a numbered certificate in your cat's name. Prefer it on screen? The digital portrait is €29.
